Having the best coach makes a huge difference in your goal/game!

Today was  my "off" training day, but I did have an all-day deposition with one of my favorite clients!  It was  a great day, and I am one of the lucky people who really loves her job.  Court reporting has been very good to me!

Tomorrow I am going to try the intervals again (without throwing up) and get my three hours in.  I have to say to anybody out there thinking about getting a coach -- it is the best thing that has happened to me.  I have mentioned before that I found Louise Kobin by researching about a Jones Fracture (which we all know I sill have) - Lou broke her foot one year too and had a Jones Fracture, and on her blog I read about how devastated she was that she might not be able to ride La Ruta in Costa Rica that year.  But her amazing attitude and how she handled the whole situation inspired me.  When I emailed her and she agreed to coach me ( I must add at a very minimal cost)  not nearly as much as I thought having a coach would cost.  She gives me my training calendar weekly and touches base every day with me.  It's super easy having the Garmin 800, so I upload my rides for her and she can see everything!!
My HR on the ride, the elevation, the distance, miles, of course, hours of moving and not moving!
Trust me, I am not out there wasting time anymore! ;-)  She has given me so many good tips from fueling while riding, recovery, the intervals, not carrying the kitchen sink in my camel bak, etc.   She really cares about you, as the client/friend -
Being accountable to somebody really helps you stick to your goals!

Marwan might even pipe in here and comment about how surprised he was last Sunday!  He has ridden with me for years, through it all!  He has watched me fall and get back up over and over, literally and figuratively.
Sunday on our ride he said, "I have never seen you like this, never seen you this fast -- keep doing what she says, she is great for you" !!!!!!!!!!!!   That brought a smile on my face.  My family and friends all know that I think of Marwan as a best friend and a brother - so that comment meant the world to me!!!
Doug, my riding partner, friend has said he has really seen a change to in my riding and how much stronger I am.  This is all due to listening to Lou and doing, and only doing what she says (trying - I only got in trouble once)

So, thanks to God, the Universe, whatever you believe in -- but I would not be doing this without the help of my coach, La Ruta Lou!! - I hope to get up to meet her in person after Christmas and actually do a little ride with her for fun!

Oh, I am a lucky woman.  Thank you to all my new friends supporting too in this training process, Lydia for busting her butt at the office and Rachel and Petra!   My lovely daughter, Dani, who understands how much this means to me and forgives me for not giving the time to her and the kids I would like to right now.

My sister, Debbie, who I hope will be coming down from Seattle to see me at the finish line! Oh, gosh, getting carried away!  I still have months of training.

Lou even suggested in the beginning that, if i can, to sleep in a little more and get more rest while training so hard, and I am doing just that!  So good night.
